Futian will promote key areas such as drug discovery CRO, pharmaceutical research CRO, AI drug development, the research and industrialization of key technologies such as biopharmaceutical research, clinical application of biotechnology and the development of rare and important new drugs. The district will advance key projects such as the Greater Bay Area Biomedical Innovation and R&D Center, International Center for Bio-Innovation and Transformation and Translational Medicine Research Center. Efforts will be made to strengthen the integration of BT and IT development.

By making full use of industrial resources in the Hehetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, Meilin-Caitian area, Bagualing area and Dajinsha-Chegongmiao area, Futian seeks to build an industrial hub for the development of the biomedical industry, showcasing outstanding technological innovation capabilities, prominent industrial cluster effects, favorable innovation and development ecology and leading demonstration of system and mechanism.
